STaffan Österlind

Professional guitar player, producer, audio engineer, guitarist in From The Sky and A New Breed of Thieves. Touring/session guitarist with several productions, bands and artists. Toured as Paul DiAnno's (ex Iron Maiden) guitarist in South America, Europe and Asia. 

Releasing instrumental ambient guitar synth music under the name Sycamore-73.

Staffan Österlind Biography
Staffan has been a guitarist with Paul DiAnno from Iron Maiden for four years and has played the guitar with Tuff, Stacy Barthe and various artists as a session guitarist in Los Angeles, when living in Hollywood, California, USA.
Currently Staffan is playing guitar with various bands in Sweden and internationally as well as mixing, producing and mastering a lot of albums.

  • 2023 - present. Releasing songs from self produced ambient guitar synth album under the name Sycamore-73.  Joining the band A New Breed of Thieves, a Swedish rock band based in Malmö. Writing and releasing guitar based chill music and music for games with famed producer Niclas Lundqvist (a k a 08 Pulse and LUNIQ). Producing music together with the english singer/ songwriter Alna, the album will be released in 2024.

  • 2016 - present. Mixing, mastering and/or producing different bands and artists like Stormen, Palth, Close Quarters, Erika, Marina Ammouri, Seven Strait and Ralf Gyllenhammar (Mustasch), Filippa Nässil (ThunderMother) and Soul Exchange to name a few. Recorded and mixed the own band From The Sky with Lennart Östlund (ABBA, Led Zeppelin) released in 2020. Touring Europe and Asia with Arrival From Sweden - The Music Of ABBA. Ongoing tours and shows with Wrethov's Brian Adams Tribute, A Tribute To Led Zeppelin, Forever And Ever-The Music Of David Bowie, From The Sky, Soul Exchange and other artists and bands. Teaching the guitar at Kulturskolan in Stockholm, Sweden.

  • 2015. Started Fassberg & Osterlind Music Inc. Management/music production business. Worked with famed band Close Quarters and members of the band Europe amongst others.

  • 2014. Toured eight countries in Europe and Sweden with Danish rock band Supercharger. Also toured Sweden with Paul DiAnno from Iron Maiden. Taught music and English at Petersvenskolan in Helsingborg and Höjaskolan in Malmö.

  • 2011- 2012. Worked at Guitar Center in Hollywood selling guitars and other music equipment to various customers and celebrities, for example Johnny Depp, Wayne Kramer (MC5) and Seal.

  • 2012. Toured the USA and Canada with LA Velvet and Tuff. Played with Beck in his video Sound And Vision. Performed at The Emmy Awards in Las Vegas in front of 20 million viewers and televised Hollywood Music Awards.

  • 2012. Tracked guitars for Def Jam artist Smokey and played with famed hitmaker Stacy Barthe. Toured with Tuff and recorded for hip hop/r´n´b producers Father MC and Tony DeNiro.

  • 2011. Played guitars on Evan Ross' debut album and did guitar sessions for producer Tony DeNiro and various artists, for example Run DMC, Stacy Barthe and Macy Gray.

  • 2011. Composed with Joe Solo, Los Angeles. Wrote and licensed music (songs, samples) with Macy Gray’s former producer.

  • 2011. Worked as engineer and producer in Stage Red Studios, Los Angeles. Collaborated with and recorded various bands and artists for releases.

  • 2004 – 2008. Independent Music Projects. Produced, mixed, mastered, recorded albums with several bands. Mixed and mastered the live DVD's and CD's for Sweden Rock Festival. Produced, arranged and recorded the Led Zeppelin song Kashmir with Paul DiAnno (ex-Iron Maiden) released by Bob Kulick and Cleopatra records.

  • 2004 – 2011. Toured as Paul DiAnno's (ex Iron Maiden) guitarist in South America, Europe and Asia. Toured the US with Los Angeles based rock band Black Robot and Willie Basse.

  • 1997 – 2009. Music Teacher in Malmö, Sweden . Taught Guitar, Sound Engineering, Ensemble, Music Theory and Rock History at music oriented senior high schools (Nicolaiskolan, Helsingborg and Rytmus, Malmö)
